Press Release

"ANOTHER BOOST INTO THE 21st CENTURY"
The Herbert River district is keeping in step with technology and modern culture with the establishment of its first "Internet Café", located at SHOTS CONSULTANCY'S premises at 25 Palm Terrace.
"I prefer to call it an Internet Lounge", said David Fascetti, the owner of the business. "We will not be in the business of selling coffee or any of the other consumables associated with a café! What we are selling is an opportunity for people to access the World Wide Web at an affordable price."
SHOTS CONSULTANCY boasts six computers that can access the Internet simultaneously. When not being used for the Internet, they will serve as classroom computers for students enrolled in any of the myriad courses being offered by the business.
As well as providing access to the Internet, SHOTS CONSULTANCY now offers its clientele a range of related services, including colour copying, scanning and transfer of data onto CDs and other electronic media, standard photocopying and data conversion services. It also stocks blank CDs and floppy disks.
The Internet Lounge will be opened Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM until 5:00 PM. Rates are $5.50 for 30 minutes, $9.90 per hour and $27.50 for 3 hours. Internet classes are available at $148.50 per person (inc GST) for 9 hours training. Incorporated organizations may book the entire facility for $55.00 per hour. Internet access by minors will be closely monitored with "Net Nanny" software, thus preventing them from gaining access to adult sites.
As well providing a service to visitors wishing to keep in contact with their family and friends, Mr Fascetti envisages that the Internet Lounge will become a resource for students for research purposes or just to keep in touch with the rest of the world.
"If our Internet Lounge proves to be as successful as we hope, we will then look towards upgrading the equipment to enable video-conferencing also. This should prove to be a very useful tool for the corporate sector", Mr Fascetti said.
